TELTA and British Council Launch TeachingEnglish Grant Project to Empower 300 English Teachers Across Tanzania
On 13th September 2024, TELTA, in collaboration with the British Council, launched the initial implementation of the British Council TeachingEnglish Grant project for Sub-Saharan Africa!
We held an intensive one-day training in Dodoma, gathering 50 dedicated English Language Teachers (ELTs) from ten regions, including Ruvuma, Lindi, Pwani, Dar es Salaam, Morogoro, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Iringa, Tabora, and Kigoma.
This initiative aims to empower 300 ELTs across Tanzania with innovative teaching strategies grounded in Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) principles. The project also focuses on promoting inclusion and gender equity in the classroom. Teachers will benefit from TELTA’s training and access to a wealth of resources and professional development opportunities through the British Council TeachingEnglish platform.
