On June 22 and 23, TELTA hosted its 5th Annual Conference at the Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) in Njiro. The event brought together 300 participants from across Tanzania, Zanzibar, and neighbouring countries, including Djibouti and Kenya. With 90 presenters covering over 100 topics, the conference aimed to disseminate new knowledge throughout Tanzania, with representatives from every region. This gathering was not only educational but also deeply enriching for all attendees.
The conference’s guest of honour was Ms. Jeanne Clark, Public Affairs Officer from the U.S. Embassy in Dar es Salaam, the main sponsor of the event. The keynote speaker, Dr. Aymen Elsheikh from A&M Texas University in Qatar, delivered an insightful presentation on “Motivating Teachers to Advanced Methodologies in the Postmethod Era,” captivating the audience with his expertise.
In addition to the presentations, the conference honoured various teachers with certificates for their participation in TELTA-organized programs for Tanzanian educators. These programs included TCPD (Teacher’s Continuous Professional Development), Access, PRELIM II, and Facebook Live sessions. The certificates were presented by Ms. Jeanne Clark, celebrating the teachers’ dedication and contributions to education in Tanzania. The conference was hailed as a resounding success, providing a platform for professional development and knowledge sharing.
